These prayers evolved from my experience of the always-present and yet ever-growing spiritual awareness of the lesbian and gay community. I believe that our ocmmunity includes our families (biological and chosen) and our friends (personal, political, and ecclesiastical). I am profoundly greateful to Go for this community of nature, of challenge, and of vision. I also thank God for opportunities and abilities to express our spirituality.
"For Chris Glaser, prayer is a mysterious, wondrous yet earthy place where the dance of spirituality and sexuality is celebrated. His own fondest prayer for all of us is that we may be opened up to greet God's coming out - to us." Malcolm Boyd "In this collection of sixty prayers...Chris Glaser opens new vistas to us into prayer, discipleship, and the relationship between spirituality and sexuality... This book is a classic in devotional literature which one will return to again and again." Merril M. Follansbee. "It´s a lovely, inspiring manuscript...The book bears its own prayerful witness to the truths of which it speaks." Carter Heyward. "Chris Glaser's moving prayers help to strengthen the intimacy between human beings and God. His informative essays offer ample proof of the presence of the Holy Spirit within and among lesgay Christians." Virginia Ramey Mollenkott. |
