My goal in this book is to sketch the outlines of an erotic ethic of justice-love and to begin to color in its contours. Such an ethic, I believe, will enlarge and perhaps revitalize liberal discourse as it incorporates and benefits from the moral wisdom of women, gay people, and other "strangers" on the margins. Liberating moral discourse about sexuality must rejoin what has been tragically rendered asunder: on the one hand, oru longing for pleasure, joy, and at-homeness in our bodies and, on the other hand our desire for justice ans well-being thoughout our social world...
