This book was written as practical response to many ministers who approached me after they did not know what to say to a woman suffering violence from her abusive husband. My focus and audience is the Christian community, and the particular issues that are raised in a Christian context. Although a pastor in acongregational setting is used in most examples, the recomendations can be helpful to hospital and college chaplains, deacons, and youth chaplains as well as pastoral couselors.
The focus is on how to respond when men who barret or their victims seek help. Information is provided so that abusers and their victims can be identified and appropriate response offered. |
