In the pages that follow, we present some of the results of our study and reflection. In the first chaptes we trace the spiritual journey of the Christians with whom we have been most closely associated, in an attempt to show how they arrived at their present position and what it represents for them. In the second, we lay out what we see the Nicaraguan revolution is attempting to do, in order to show why these Christians and so many of the poor are committed to it. In the third chapter, we propose a fundamental change in U.S. policy which we believe would not only contribute to the well-being of the masses of poor people in Central America but also serve our national interests as well.
