The poem The Music of the Spheres forms part of a huge work of more than 500 pages called the Cosmic Canticle. It is Ernesto Cardenal's major publication since the Nicaraguan Revolution in 1979, when he became Minister of Culture. Writing in the light of thet unique experience, he resumes and develops many of matter and the cosmos; sky, stars and flying; the American Indians; plant and animal life rhythms; love and attraction. All these contribute to the poem´s dominant conception tha 'matter is music'.
From the unconsciousness came so in us the planet loves and dreams. It is the earth singing this Cosmic Canticle in me. The music of the spheres. |
