Two portraits are presented here (1) Jezebel as a story character taken from narrative criticism, and (2) Jezebel, teh evil Jewish queen described in the books of Kings, drawn from a sociological study. Through combining these portraits, the reader comes to understand teh ancient writer's worldviews, theologies, values, and loyalties and learns a perspective with which to approach all biblical texts.
