The essays collected in this book are vritten by fellow theologians who for may years have saqhred this vision with Letty. They are theologiasn who have gathered with her around many different kind of tables and at a variety of liberation parties. They represent tables located in communities ranging from East Harlem and Germany to China and Costa Rica. They also representtables shaped by disciplinary backfrounds ranging from feminist theology to biblical studies and social ethics. These essays are written by scholars who share with Letty a commitment not only to the rigors of theological education but, more important, to an activism that seekd God's shalom in everyday lives of people of faith. In this sense, the essays represent the visions of a generation of scholars who embrace, along with Letty, a "liberation eschatology" ans a "liberation of eschatology."
